Changes to my study programs

Hello people. Today i'm going to tell you about my study program and what changes i would make to it.

As i have mentioned in last blogs, i am in the second year of Chemistry and Pharmacy, and although i wouldn't complain about the subjects we have, i think many subjects are unnecesary requirements to other subjects. For example Phisichochemistry has five subjects as requirements, and i don't think all of them are ok as its requirements. At the same time, Phisichochemistry, together with Organic Chemistry 2, is required for coursing Biochemistry, and i think that is not well-planned (specifically for Phisichochemistry), once i read in a non-official programme, that the requirements for Biochemistry would be Organic Chemistry 2 and Systems Physiollogy, that would make me more sense. On the other hand, in the last study programme of the career there was Anatomy as a subject, but it was deleted in the current programme, and i don't think it was fine because i think a pharmacist must have a deep knowledge about the human body's structure and the location of the different organs. 


In my personal opinion the workload is well-distribuited in most of our subjects, becasuse all the activities are scheduled from the beginning of the semester and the time we have to do it is enough if you work on time and not leave everything for the final time, but that is exactly what many of us are used to do!. I have nothing to say about the methods applied by the most of my teachers, although some of them make tha class bored because they mainly just read textually the class presentation and don't explain very much with their own words to make it more understandable. The lenght of the degree i think is long, specially for the extra semester after finishing the degree (i mean the subjects) in which we make the tesis and the final activities of titulation, because in anothers careers you can do it during the same last semester of the degree. Anyway, i'm not so sure if i will complain about that once i am coursing the fifth year.

In relation with our infrastructure, i love the green areas at our faculty, but we have very few roofed sites and that is a problem at the rainy days, because moving from one place to another without getting wet is difficult, so maybe a roof that crosses the faculty would be useful.

    i strongly believe that to have an anatomy subject is very neccesary! i can't undertsand the reason why they eliminated that subject

    They gave me the explanation about the requirements in physicochemistry, it was to avoid that in semester 3 the students took the subject in advance.

    I agree, there are unnecessary requirements according to me for some subjects.

My best holidays

Hello. Today i'm going to talk about the best trip i remember. It was my travel to Talcahuano and Concepción with my father to visit a cousin of mine, Daniel, and his girlfriend Barbara, at the now far away October 2000, when i was only six years old. It was the best trip i've had, firstly because it was the first time (and the only one until now) i traveled by plane and also because i loved each place i met. The steawardesses at the fly were very friendly and smiling, and i ate turkey on the plane, i remember i liked it because it tasted sweet, more like a sort of dessert than a meal, and a child of that age loves it! And i've never forgotten seeing down the clouds! The Huascar in Talcahuano. I can't remember exactly how long we stayed there, but i think it was around three days. Firstly, when we get off the plane we went to Talcahuano and visited the Huascar, a historical ship from the Pacific War,  then we met Daniel and Barbara and had lunch in a restaurant there. A...

My future job

Hello people. Today i'm telling you what i expect from my future job. As you can read in my blogger name, the major i'm studying is Pharmacy, (literally chemistry and pharmacy, but as far as i know, in english we would say only pharmacy). I chose this career because it combines science and health, and i've been told that the salaries are, in general, not bad at all.  There is a lot of areas in which a pharmacist can be involved, and honestly i'm not really sure of what exactly i want to work in, because i'm just in the second year and i need to experience with the different pharmaceutical areas as i progress in the degree to take that choice. However, i like the clinic area and so investigation, and teaching at university sounds good to me as well. For now i can say i can imagine myself some years from now working indoors in a hospital or doing investigation which sometimes could imply working outdoors, but preferably i wouldn't be working at a drugstore, becaus...
